The initiative will apply IIASA’s “Applied Systems Analysis” approach to generating water resource and demand scenarios at global, regional and national levels, as well as assessing possible solutions to existing and projected water demand.

The launch highlighted that the initiative partners academia, business, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the UN in an innovative manner. The launch also provided an opportunity for approximately 70 participants to discuss needs and priority areas, as well as to address challenges and opportunities presented by the initiative.
