World Bank Opens Applications for Small Waste Management Projects in Maldives

The World Bank opened applications for the Civil Society Fund in the Maldives, which provides up to US$10,000 for civil society organizations based in the Maldives and working on issues of development.

7 April 2011: The World Bank opened applications for the Civil Society Fund in the Maldives, a fund that provides up to US$10,000 for civil society organizations (CSOs) based in the Maldives and working on issues of development. This year’s theme is “Creating Public Awareness on Managing Solid Waste in Maldives.”

This year’s grants will support CSOs partnering with public and private sector organizations to provide a voice to poor and marginalized communities in vulnerable islands, and to promote innovative solutions through linking or providing expertise on cost-effective solid waste management technologies. The deadline for submission is 6 May 2011. [World Bank News]
