© WMOApril 2009: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) with the University of Southern Queensland, the South Australian Research and Development Institute and a number of other co-sponsors, are organizing the International Workshop on the Content, Communication and Use of Weather and Climate Products and Services for Sustainable Agriculture, from 18-20 May 2009, in Toowoomba, Australia.

This workshop aims to bring together meteorologists, fire scientists, practitioners and managers of wild land fire prevention and mitigation, environmental monitoring organizations and the Earth observation community to develop appropriate strategies to cope with operational fire weather systems and their application in fire management.
The workshop will review operational methods used in fire danger rating systems from around the globe and discuss new developments in system design and potential enhancements. [Workshop website]
