December 2009: The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a report titled “Protecting health from climate change: global research priorities,” whichpresents the conclusions from a global consultation seeking to improve the evidence base for policies to protect health from climate change.
The report includes recommendations addressed to the global research community, and sections on: assessing the risks; identifying the most effective interventions; guiding health-promoting mitigation and adaptation decisions in other sectors; improving decision support; estimating the costs of protecting health from climate change; and implementing the agenda: partnerships for climate change and health research.
