The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) announced an extension on the call for nominations for the Wangari Maathai Award 2014.

Nominations must now be received by 4 July 2014, with the selection of the winner by August 2014.

CPF4 June 2014: The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) announced an extension on the call for nominations for the Wangari Maathai Award 2014. Nominations must now be received by 4 July 2014, with the selection of the winner by August 2014.

The Award will be issued to an individual who has achieved successes in the preservation, restoration and sustainable management of forests for the benefit of local communities, rural livelihoods, women and the environment.

Nominations should demonstrate how the nominee’s work reflects the spirit of Wangari Maathai’s work, and raises awareness of the importance of forests for rural livelihoods, the empowerment of women and the environment. Nominations should also outline the impacts of the nominee’s work on the empowerment of others to conserve and manage forests sustainability.
