Wageningen University Organizes Seminar on Genetic Resources Conservation and Use

The Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) has drawn attention to the 2013 course on "Contemporary approaches to genetic resources conservation and use" being organized by Wageningen University, aiming to support policy makers and other stakeholders in the implementation of the ITPGR.

28 August 2012: The Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) has notified stakeholders of an upcoming course on “Contemporary approaches to genetic resources conservation and use” and the application deadlines. The course is being organized by Wageningen University, in the Netherlands, from 15 April-3 May 2013.

The course is devoted to analyzing policies on plant genetic resources and their impact on conservation and sustainable use. It aims to support policy makers and other stakeholders in the implementation of the ITPGR in their own national context.

The general deadline for applicants is 15 March 2013, while the deadline for applying for fellowships from the Netherlands Fellowship Programme is 1 October 2012. [ITPGR Notification] [Course Website]
