The paper was drafted in preparation for the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
Recognizing that the tourism and travel sector is considered to be highly‐climate sensitive, UNWTO has responded by establishing collaborative partnerships, raising awareness, developing guidance and providing support. The publication includes sections on: agreements on greenhouse gas emissions reductions and their impact on tourism; UNWTO responses to climate change; capacity building and awareness raising events organized and supported by UNWTO; and the response of governments and the private sector to the challenges that climate change poses to tourism.[UNWTO Press Release][The Publication]
