24 April 2012: The UN Volunteers (UNV) programme, along with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), Stakeholder Forum and Zerofootprint have launched a multi-media campaign called “Volunteer Action Counts,” which aims to count actions for sustainable development by people from around the world.

The objective of the campaign is to allow volunteers to demonstrate their efforts to build a sustainable future. Volunteers around the world are invited to share their experiences or actions, using social media such as Twitter, Facebook or the campaign website.

UNV will collect all the “counts” and related stories, and showcase them through a multi-media presentation at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). [Campaign Announcement] [Campaign Website] [Campaign Launch Webcast]
