UNITAR/UN CC:Learn Joins Working Group on Greening Technical and Vocational Education

UNITAR/UN CC:Learn has joined the working group on “Greening TVET and Skills Development” of the Inter-agency Group on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (IAG-TVET), which was established in recognition of the need to coordinate action and enhance knowledge exchange among UN agencies, to advance learning for green jobs.

UN CC:Learn2 April 2012: The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)/UN CC:Learn has joined the working group on “Greening TVET and Skills Development” of the Inter-agency Group on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (IAG-TVET).

The working group was established in recognition of the need to coordinate action and enhance knowledge exchange among UN agencies, to advance learning for green jobs. By joining the working group, UNITAR/UN CC:Learn will help to link the group’s specialized work to the activities of UN CC:Learn, such as the UN CC:Learn “Pilot Projects to Strengthen Human Resources and Skills to Address Climate Change” and the compilation of a One UN Package of learning resources.

The working group tentatively includes the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the European Training Foundation (ETF), Cedefop, the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the World Bank.
