UNITAR, UNEP Launch Green Economy e-learning Course

UNITAR and UNEP have launched an online course titled “Introduction to a Green Economy: Concepts, Principles and Applications,” which is designed to introduce participants to the green economy concept and to enhance their understanding of the challenges and opportunities for promoting “low-carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive development.”

11 April 2012: The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) have launched an online learning course titled “Introduction to a Green Economy: Concepts, Principles and Applications.”

The course, which will run from 14 May to 22 June 2012, aims to introduce participants to the green economy concept, and to enhance their understanding of the challenges and opportunities for promoting “low-carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive development.” In addition, the course will equip participants with the skills necessary to apply the green economy concept in real world contexts. It is designed as an interactive, web-based course, targeted at a range of stakeholders, including civil servants, diplomats, environmental managers, academics and interested citizens.
