<p>Joan Clos, Executive Director, UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), urged the UN General Assembly (UNGA) Second Committee to adopt a resolution in support of Habitat III, the 2016 World Habitat Summit. Speakers welcomed Habitat III, highlighted urbanization trends and called for sustainable urban development, particularly in the face of worsening climate change and natural disasters.</p>
