UNGA President Submits Draft Procedural Resolution on Technology Dialogues

UN General Assembly President John Ashe submitted for adoption by the 68th UNGA a resolution on the four structured dialogues on possible arrangements for a facilitation mechanism to promote the development, transfer and dissemination of clean and environmentally sound technologies.

The draft procedural resolution resulted from the informal consultations co-facilitated by Paul Seger, Permanent Representative of Switzerland, and Guilherme de Aguiar Patriota, Deputy Permanent Representative of Brazil, on 9 September 2014, in New York, US.

UNGA10 September 2014: UN General Assembly President John Ashe submitted for adoption by the 68th UNGA a resolution on the four structured dialogues on possible arrangements for a facilitation mechanism to promote the development, transfer and dissemination of clean and environmentally sound technologies. The draft procedural resolution resulted from the informal consultations co-facilitated by Paul Seger, Permanent Representative of Switzerland, and Guilherme de Aguiar Patriota, Deputy Permanent Representative of Brazil, on 9 September 2014, in New York, US.

If adopted, the procedural resolution would welcome the convening of the four structured dialogues, held in New York, US, on 29-30 April 2014, 4 June 2014 and 23 July 2014. The Assembly would request the 69th UNGA President to continue consultations based on the recommendations contained in the summary prepared by the 68th UNGA President, with the aim of reaching a conclusion during the 69th session, in the context of the post-2015 development agenda. It would also invite the Secretary-General to take into account the recommendations emerging from the structured dialogues in preparing his synthesis report. [Draft Procedural Resolution]
