UNGA Agrees Membership of SCP Board

The 67th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) has agreed on the membership of the Board of the 10-year framework on programmes (10YFP) on sustainable consumption and production (SCP) patterns.

The decision lists the regional nominations for ten board members.

Decision A/67/L.81, adopted on 16 September, stipulates that members will serve for two years.

The decision lists the regional nominations for ten board members. Decision A/67/L.81, adopted on 16 September, stipulates that members will serve for two years.

The membership of the Board, as nominated by the five regional groups of the UN, is comprised of: Tanzania; South Africa; Japan/Republic of Korea; Bangladesh/Indonesia; Romania; the Russian Federation; Chile; Mexico; Finland/Germany; and Switzerland.

In a letter circulating the draft decision to Member States on 12 September, UNGA President Vuk Jeremic notes that the agreement is the result of intensive consultations with regional groups.
