29 March 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the individual review of the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory submissions of Hungary submitted in 2007 and 2008 (FCCC/ARR/2008/HUN).

The expert review team (ERT) finds that the inventory is generally in line with the Revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines, the IPCC good practice guidance and the IPCC good practice guidance for LULUCF. The 2008 inventory submission shows great improvement compared with the 2006 submission and improvements of the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) system. However, the ERT identified the need for further improvements in the following areas: description of the implementation of QA/QC, and transparency in the common reporting format tables and the national inventory report.
