UNFCCC Secretariat Releases Australia’s and the Philippines’ Submissions on the Elements Contained in Paragraph 1 of the Bali Action Plan

24 March 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a compilation document containing the submissions by parties on “Ideas and proposals on the elements contained in paragraph 1 of the Bali Action Plan” (FCCC/AWGLCA/2009/MISC.1/Add.2). This document is an addendum to previous submissions from parties contained in documents FCCC/AWGLCA/2009/MISC.1/ Add.1 and FCCC/AWGLCA/2009/MISC.1, and contains two further submissions from Australia on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries, and from the Philippines on Proposed Mitigation Actions.

These submissions will be examined by the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention at its fifth session, scheduled to take place from 29 March-8 April 2009, in Bonn, Germany. The Working Group will examine these documents under its agenda item “enabling the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Convention through long-term cooperative action now, up to and beyond 2012, by addressing, inter alia: a shared vision for long-term cooperative action; enhanced national/international action on mitigation of climate change; enhanced action on adaptation; enhanced action on technology development and transfer to support action on mitigation and adaptation; enhanced action on the provision of financial resources and investment to support action on mitigation and adaptation and technology cooperation.” [The Document]
