UNFCCC Secretariat Publishes Report on Collaborative Activities

14 May 2010:The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/INF.1) that provides an overview of some of the collaborative activities, initiatives and programmes that the Secretariat is engaged in with UN entities, convention secretariats and intergovernmental organizations in order to facilitate an effective international response to climate change.
The report covers the collaborative activities that the Secretariat has been involved in since the 30th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA). The report addresses: activities initiated by the UN System Chief Executives Board (CEB) for Coordination; specific areas of cooperation by thematic area; and collaborative initiatives and programmes.
The specific areas of collaboration include: technology; biodiversity; land use and forest-related issues; finance and economic development; technical assistance to developing countries; mitigation; and climate knowledge – science, research and systematic observation. The report will be considered by SBSTA at its 32nd session, which will take place in Bonn, Germany, from 31 May-9 June 2010. [The Report]
