5 November 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/ARR/2008/HRV) of the individual review of the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories of Croatia submitted in 2007 and 2008.
The report contains sections on: energy; industrial processes and solvent and other product use; agriculture; land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF); and waste.
The report indicates that the inventory is generally in line with the Revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (hereinafter referred to as the Revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines), the IPCC good practice guidance and the IPCC good practice guidance for LULUCF. The inventory is complete in terms of years, geographical coverage and sectors, but estimates for some sources and sink categories were not reported in the common reporting format tables or the national inventory reporting. In the LULUCF sector, estimates are provided only for the forest land remaining forest land category. Emissions from some categories in the industrial processes, solvent and other product use and waste sectors are reported as not estimated. However, the in-country review the expert review team (ERT) identified some categories where methods used were not fully in accordance with the IPCC good practice guidance, which might lead to underestimation of emissions in the most recent years. The ERT recommended that Croatia revise its estimates for these categories. [The Report]
