UNFCCC Secretariat Announces Winners of CDM Photo Contest

1 December 2008: The UNFCCC Secretariat has announced the winners of the “changing lives” photo contest, which was launched on 17 October to raise awareness of the clean development mechanism (CDM).

 UNFCCC/CDM International Photo Contest 2008 1 December 2008: The UNFCCC Secretariat has announced the winners of the “changing lives” photo contest, which was launched on 17 October to raise awareness of the clean development mechanism (CDM).

The photos were required to be of, or connected with, the
functioning of registered CDM projects. The winner of the contest is
Nic Bothma for his photo titled “catching the sun” in relation to the
Kuyasa low-cost urban housing energy upgrade CDM project, Khayelitsha,
Cape Town, South Africa. The other winners were: Chun Li for his photo
titled “Outside the Window …” from the Guohua Inner Mongolia
Huitengliang Wind Farm Project; Adeel Halim, for his photo “Indian
Sugar Power” from the Bagasse-based Co-generation Power Project at
Khatauli, India; and Pedro Guinle, for his photo, “Mount Bagasse” from
the Lucélia Bagasse Cogeneration Project in Brazil. The winning works
will be displayed at the UN Climate Change Conference in Poznan,
Poland, and also will be used in print and promotional material, as
