UNFCCC Releases Provisional COP 18 Agenda

The UNFCCC Secretariat released the provisional agenda for the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18).

The session will consider, inter alia: consideration of parties' proposals to amend the Convention; technology development and transfer and implementation of the Technology Mechanism; implementation of the Buenos Aires programme of work on adaptation and response measures; and matters relating to financing.

13 September 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the provisional agenda for the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18), which will take place in Doha, Qatar, from 26 November – 7 December 2012. Annotations to the provisional agenda are also included.

The session will consider, inter alia: organizational matters; consideration of parties’ proposals to amend the Convention; technology development and transfer and implementation of the Technology Mechanism; national communications; capacity building; and implementation of the Buenos Aires programme of work on adaptation and response measures. On matters relating to finance, the agenda includes consideration of: the long-term finance work programme; the Standing Committee report; the Green Climate Fund (GCF) report and guidance; arrangements between the COP and the GCF; report of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and guidance; and guidance to the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF). The agenda indicates that seven bodies will be meeting during the sessional period and that a High-level segment will also take place from 4-7 December. [Provisional COP 18 Agenda]
