UNFCCC Releases Parties’ Submissions for AWG-LCA 10

17 May 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released two documents containing submissions from parties in preparation for the tenth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 10) to be held in Bonn, Germany from 1-11 June 2010.
The first document, “Additional views on which the Chair may draw in preparing text to facilitate negotiations among Parties,” contains submissions from Australia, Chile, Cook Islands, India, Marshall Islands, Russian Federation (FCCC/AWGLCA/2010/MISC.2/Add.1). These are to be considered in addition to the 18 submissions from parties on that matter contained in document FCCC/AWGLCA/2010/MISC.2.
The second is the submission from Bolivia, Grenada on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), Japan, and South Africa, containing their views on an indicative roadmap (FCCC/AWGLCA/2010/MISC.3). Under agenda item 3 on the preparation of an outcome to be presented for adoption to the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to enable the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Convention through long-term cooperative action now, up to and beyond 2012,at its ninth session, the AWG-LCA invited its Chair to propose an indicative roadmap, and invited parties to submit their views on that matter to the Secretariat.
