The report includes information on the dates of approval of funding and disbursement of funds, as well as the approximate date of submission of the national communications, for consideration by the 38th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 38).

An annex to the report indicates that six countries have, as of 31 March 2013, requested support to GEF for BUR preparation, namely: China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa and Uruguay. All have been approved by the GEF Secretariat and are either undergoing project preparation or awaiting approval from the GEF Council.

South Africa’s request is awaiting approval by the GEF Council, and Uruguay’s request was approved by the GEF’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Naoko Ishii.
