The UNFCCC Secretariat has published documents for consideration by parties at the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 19), including: a report on the in-forum expert meeting on the impact of the implementation of response measures; a report on the 24th meeting of the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG); and a synthesis report on the regional training workshops on adaptation for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) for 2012-2013.
9 October 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published documents for consideration by parties at the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 19), including: a report on the in-forum expert meeting on the impact of the implementation of response measures; a report on the 24th meeting of the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG); and a synthesis report on the regional training workshops on adaptation for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) for 2012-2013.
The report of the expert meeting on area (e) of the work programme on response measures (FCCC/SB/2013/INF.11) describes issues addressed during the in-forum expert meeting on ‘Economic modelling and socioeconomic trends,’ which was held on 7 June 2013, in Bonn, Germany. It report aims to serve as input to the work of the subsidiary bodies.
The report on the 24th meeting of the LEG (FCCC/SBI/2013/15) contains information on the meeting held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, from 26-29 August 2013. It provides details on the implementation of the work programme of the LEG for 2013-2014, including: regional training workshops on adaptation for LDCs for 2012-2013; plans for further training on national adaptation plans (NAPs); the NAP Expo; supplementary materials for the technical guidelines for the NAP process; technical guidance and support to the NAP process; and collaboration in providing technical support to the LDCs.
The synthesis report on the regional training workshops on adaptation for LDCs for 2012-2013 (FCCC/SBI/2013/16) provides a synthesis of four regional training workshops on adaptation for 2012-2013, which were held: in Funafuti, Tuvalu, from 28 September to 3 October 2012; in Lomé, Togo, from 18-22 March 2013; in Kigali, Rwanda, from 29 July to 2 August 2013; and in Siem Reap, Cambodia, from 20-24 August 2013. The workshops’ objective was to build the capacity of the LDCs to develop and implement the national adaptation programmes of action (NAPAs), the LDC work programme and the NAP process.
COP 19 will be held from 11-22 November 2013, in Warsaw, Poland.
