UNFCCC21 May 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published various summaries and the ADP Co-chairs’ reflections on the first part of the second session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP). ADP Co-chairs highlight good progress towards a more focused mode of work and suggest that the “big picture” of the ADP work is emerging.

In their reflections, the ADP Co-chairs state that they understand, with basis on discussions held by parties, that: the work and results of the ADP are considered to be under the Convention; drawing upon existing arrangements currently implemented that show results is relevant; and a number of interactions and interplays between the different ADP Workstreams exist.

In terms of next steps for the ADP, the Co-chairs suggest in their reflections continuing work at round-table discussions and workshops. Their suggestions will be reflected in an information note for the second part of the ADP 2, to be held in Bonn, Germany, from 3-14 June 2013.

Other documents released include: a summary report on the workshop on scope, structure and design of the 2015 agreement (ADP.2013.2.InformalSummary); and the summary of the roundtables under workstream 1 (2015 agreement) and workstream 2 (pre-2020 ambition).
