UNFCCC Releases Annual Report of GHG Inventory Review Activities

The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a report (FCCC/SBSTA/2012/INF.10) that describes activities carried out between November 2011 and October 2012 relating to greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory reviews for Annex I Parties, including: training activities; a meeting of lead reviewers; the update of the roster of experts; and maintenance and development of the GHG information system.

UNFCCC12 October 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released its annual report on activities relating to greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory reviews for Annex I Parties covering the period from November 2011 to October 2012 (FCCC/SBSTA/2012/INF.10), as requested by the Conference of Parties (COP) in decision 12.CP.9.

The report describes training activities, a meeting of lead reviewers, updating of the roster of experts, and maintenance and development of the GHG information system. It includes information on planned activities for 2013. The report focuses on elements specific to the Convention; a separate Secretariat report exists on elements specific to the Kyoto Protocol in accordance with Article 8 of the Protocol.

The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) will be invited to take note of the information contained in the report at its 37th session in Doha, Qatar, scheduled for 26 November – 1 December 2012.
