UNFCCC Releases Agenda for AWG-LCA 14

At its 14th session, AWG-LCA will consider the preparation of a comprehensive and balanced outcome to be presented to COP 17 to enable the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Convention through long-term cooperative action now, up to and beyond 2012, pursuant to the results of COP 13 and COP 16 and recognizing that the work of the AWG-LCA includes both implementation tasks and issues that are still to be concluded.

19 May 11: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the annotated agenda (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/5) for the 14th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 14). The agenda for AWG-LCA 14 was adopted by the AWG-LCA on 8 April 2011, in Bangkok, Thailand. The AWG-LCA will resume its 14th session from 7-17 June 2011, in Bonn, Germany.

Delegates will consider preparation of a comprehensive and balanced outcome to be presented to the Conference of the Parties for adoption at its 17th session (COP 17) to enable the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Convention through long-term cooperative action now, up to and beyond 2012, pursuant to the results of the COP 13 and COP 16 and recognizing that the work of the AWG-LCA includes both implementation tasks and issues that are still to be concluded. The AWG will also: review the definition of its scope and development of its modalities; continue discussions of legal options with the aim of completing an agreed outcome based on decision 1/CP.13, the work done at COP 16 and proposals made by parties under Article 17 of the Convention; and consider other matters.
