UNFCCC Publishes Technology Submission from Kazakhstan

6 May 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a submission from Kazakhstan on the areas of focus set out in section IV of the terms of reference for the review and assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of Article 4, paragraphs 1(c) and 5, of the Convention (technology transfer) (FCCC/SBI/2010/MISC.3).
The document reviews in Kazakhstan: the extent to which actions have promoted and supported institutional systems, as well as regulatory and legislative frameworks needed to scale up development and transfer of technologies; the range of practical actions taken and possible actions to promote the innovative public and/or private partnerships; the mechanism and processes developed to enhance cooperation with relevant intergovernmental processes; efforts to promote collaborative research and development on, and deployment of, technologies for mitigation and adaptation; and the adequacy and timeliness of the financial support provided, within the context of Article 4, paragraphs 1 (c) and 5.
The submission will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 32nd session, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 31 May-9 June 2010. [The Submission]
