UNFCCC Publishes SBSTA and SBI Provisional Agendas

22 March 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the provisional annotated agenda for the 32nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 32) (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/1) and the 32nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 32) (FCCC/SBI/2010/1), which will take place from 31 May-9 June 2010, in Bonn, Germany.

SBSTA will consider, inter alia: the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change; development and transfer of technologies; reducing emissions from deforestation in developing countries: approaches to stimulate action; research and systematic observation; methodological issues under the Convention and Protocol; scientific, technical and socioeconomic aspects of mitigation of climate change; and matters relating to Article 2, paragraph 3, of the Kyoto Protocol.
The SBI will consider, inter alia: national communications and greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory data from parties included in Annex I to the Convention; national communications from parties not included in Annex I to the Convention; financial mechanism of the Convention; matters relating to Article 4, paragraphs 8 and 9, of the Convention; development and transfer of technologies; capacity building under the Convention and Protocol; review of the Adaptation Fund; amendment of the Kyoto Protocol in respect of procedures and mechanisms relating to compliance; proposal from Kazakhstan to amend Annex B to the Kyoto Protocol; and arrangements for intergovernmental meetings.
