UNFCCC Publishes SBI Agenda for Bonn Session

The annotated provisional agenda (FCCC/SBI/2011/1) for the 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) reflects the decisions adopted in Cancun, Mexico.

16 May 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the annotated provisional agenda (FCCC/SBI/2011/1) for the 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), which reflects that decision 1/CP.16 (The Cancun Agreements: Outcome of the Work of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention) provides direction for the implementation of the long-term cooperative action under the Convention that will require coordination among the various bodies undertaking related tasks.

Decision 1/CP.16 was adopted by parties at the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 16), which took place in Cancun, Mexico, at the end of 2010. The provisional agenda for the session, which will be held in Bonn, Germany, from 6-16 June 2011, provides that the SBI will consider, inter alia: national communications from Parties included in Annex I of the Convention and parties not included in Annex I; financial mechanism of the Convention; matters relating to adaptation; matters relating to the implementation of response measures; development and transfer of technologies; amendment of the Kyoto Protocol in respect of procedures and mechanisms relating to compliance; arrangements for intergovernmental meetings; and administrative, financial and institutional matters.
