UNFCCC Publishes Report on Cooperative Activities

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report outlining major collaborative activities that the Secretariat has been involved in since the 32nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA).

11 May 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/INF.3) summarizing cooperative activities with UN entities and intergovernmental organizations, to contribute to the work under the Convention.

The report outlines major collaborative activities that the Secretariat has been involved in since the 32nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) with major intergovernmental organizations and UN entities. The report addresses: activities initiated by the UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB); specific areas of cooperation; and collaborative initiatives and programmes.

In particular, it highlights collaboration among the UNFCCC Secretariat and various UN and intergovernmental organizations on: transfer; biodiversity, issues related to lands and desertification, and land-use and forest-related issues; finance; technical assistance to developing countries; mitigation; and gender. The report will be considered by the 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technical Advice (SBSTA 34).
