18 January 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a notification to parties (YDB/ DBO/drl) regarding communication of information relating to the Copenhagen Accord.
The notification invites parties who wish to be associated with the Accord to transmit this intention to the Secretariat by 31 January 2010, by way of a letter from a relevant government officer to the Executive Secretary or a note verbale. These parties will then be included in the chapeau of the Accord and the Secretariat will maintain and update on its website a list of parties that have communicated their intention to associate themselves with the Accord.
The notification also provides clarification on how parties can provide, by 31 January 2010, information on quantified economy-wide emission targets for 2020 and for non-Annex I parties to provide information on mitigation actions. [The Notification]
