UNFCCC Publishes List of Organizations Applying for Observer Status
story highlights

The UNFCCC has released a list of IGOs and NGOs that have provisionally been admitted as observers to the UNFCCC.

UNFCCC13 September 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a list (FCCC/CP/2011/2) of new intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and non governmental organizations (NGOs) that have expressed a wish to be represented at sessions of the Conference of the Parties (COP) and its subsidiary bodies as observers.

The members of the COP Bureau have received the list of new applicants and have not raised any objections to the organizations listed. These organizations have been advised of their provisional admittance status on the understanding that the final authority for their admission as observers rests with the COP. The COP is invited, at the first meeting of its 17th session, to accord observer status to the IGOs and NGOs listed in the annex. [Publication:Provisional List of Observers]
