11 March 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the centralized review of the 2012 annual submission of Liechtenstein (FCCC/ARR/2012/LIE), which states that total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions increased by 1.1% between 1990 and 2010.

The Expert Review Team (ERT) that conducted the centralized review concluded that Lithuania’s inventory submission was prepared in compliance with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines. It also concluded that the inventory submission, the common reporting format (CRF) tables and the national inventory report (NIR) were generally complete, although certain information and certain years, were not considered complete. The ERT found the reporting to be generally in line with the IPCC Guidelines, but noted that further transparency, in particular related to the land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector could be improved.

The ERT identified cross-cutting issues for improvement, including on the completeness of the inventory and inventory planning. The ERT further formulated recommendations for improving methodological approaches in estimating emissions under different categories, including for the LULUCF, energy, road transportation, navigation, industrial processes and solvents.
