29 July 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the July 2010 issue of “UNFCCC News.” This issue focuses on the first four projects to receive adaptation fund money and provides an overview of progress made during the June Climate Change Talks, under mitigation, adaptation, finance and technology.

Additional activities and events under the building blocks are also highlighted. An update is provided for the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-Term Cooperative Action under the Convention and the Ad HocWorking Group on Future Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol and also Capacity Building. The guest columnist is Vincent Kasulu Seya Makonga, Chief Director for Development at the Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Tourism of the Democratic Republic of Congo, who discusses developing a national strategy for REDD+.
