UNFCCC Publishes Czech Republic Fifth National Communication
story highlights

The Expert Review Team found that the Czech Republic's fifth national communication is in general compliance with UNFCCC reporting guidelines, and generally comprehensive and transparent.

4 November 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the results of the in-depth review (FCCC/IDR.5/CZE) of the fifth national communication (NC5) of the Czech Republic conducted by an expert review team (ERT) in accordance with relevant provisions of the Convention and Article 8 of the Kyoto Protocol.

The ERT noted that the Czech Republic’s NC5 complies in general with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines. The NC5 covers all sections required by the UNFCCC reporting guidelines and all supplementary information under Article 7, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol stipulated by decision 15/CMP.1. However, the NC5 does not include some information required by the UNFCCC reporting guidelines on policies and measures and projections. The ERT recommends that the Czech Republic enhance the completeness of its reporting by providing this information in its next national communication. The ERT acknowledges that the Czech Republic’s NC5, including supplementary information provided under Article 7, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol, is generally comprehensive and transparent.
