23 April 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/KP/AWG/2010/3) of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP), at its 11th session, held in Bonn, Germany, from 9-11 April 2010.
In its conclusions, amongst other things, the AWG-KP agreed that, in order to conclude its work, it would need to hold two sessions between its 12th session and the sixth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 6), of a duration of at least one week. The AWG-KP took note of a proposal for the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) to consider the option that a high-level session be held between the 32nd sessions of the SBI and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and COP/MOP 6 to provide guidance. The AWG-KP requested that its Chair: prepare documentation to facilitate negotiations on the basis of the annex to the report of the AWG-KP 10; and make proposals on the scheduling of the substantive agenda items currently under consideration of the AWG-KP.
