Workshop participants shared lessons learned and good practices in developing and implementing education, training and awareness activities, and discussed opportunities for strengthening and expanding those activities in Africa.
25 October 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/SBI/2010/19) on the regional workshop on the implementation of Article 6 (education, training and public awareness) of the Convention in Africa.
This regional workshop was held in Banjul, the Gambia, from 13-16 September 2010. Participants representing 40 African countries, UN organizations, non-governmental organizations and the media shared experiences, lessons learned and good practices in developing and implementing education, training and awareness activities, and discussed opportunities for strengthening and expanding those activities. They also assessed the implementation of the amended New Delhi work programme on Article 6 of the Convention and made recommendations on how to further enhance it. [The Report]
