UNFCCC Publishes Annual Report of ITL Administrator

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the Annual Report of the Administrator of the International Transaction Log (ITL) under the Kyoto Protocol, which reports on the implementation of the ITL and its operational status, including the facilitation of cooperation with registry system administrators (RSAs) and the independent assessment of registry systems.

UNFCCC8 November 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a document containing the Annual Report of the Administrator of the International Transaction Log (ITL) under the Kyoto Protocol (FCCC/KP/CMP/2012/8), which outlines the activities of the ITL administrator from November 2011 to October 2012.

This eight annual report of the ITL administrator, which will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation at its 37th session (SBI 37) in November-December 2012, also contains information on transactions of Kyoto Protocol units, in response to the request by the sixth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 6).

It reports on the implementation of the ITL and its operational status, including the facilitation of cooperation with registry system administrators (RSAs), the independent assessment of registry systems, and the recertification and reconnection of the 29 national registries that were involved in the consolidation of the EU Emissions Trading System (EUETS) registries hosted in EU Member States.

Upon considering the information contained in the report, the SBI will provide guidance to the Secretariat and parties, as necessary, concerning the implementation of registry systems. [Publication: Annual Report of the Administrator of the International Transaction Log under the Kyoto Protocol]
