16 March 2010: The UNFCCC has published a compilation of 32 submissions from parties on views on the need for additional meeting time for the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP) and the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA), and on organization of work of the AWG- LCA (FCCC/KP/AWG/2010/MISC.1).

This follows a request from the Chairs of the two AWGs to parties to submit their views on the need for additional meeting time. In addition, the AWG-LCA Chair also invited parties to submit their views on how best to advance the work of the AWG-LCA in 2010, including views, ideas and proposals on: organization of the work in 2010, including on how to ensure that the negotiating process remains transparent, inclusive and efficient in delivering substantive outcomes; initiatives the Chair could take to facilitate progress; and other aspects relevant to the work of the AWG-LCA in 2010. These submissions will be considered by the AWG-LCA at its ninth session and the AWG-KP at its 11th session, to be held from 9-11 April 2010, in Bonn, Germany. [The Compilation of Submissions]
