UNFCCC Launches Database of Private Sector Adaptation Actions

The aim of the database is to feature good practices, and sustainable and profitable climate change adaptation activities being undertaken by private companies from a wide range of regions and sectors.

6 December 2011: The UNFCCC Adaptation Programme has launched a database of case studies of actions on adaptation. The database was developed under the Adaptation Private Sector Initiative (PSI) of the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change (NWP).The database comprises good practices, and sustainable and profitable climate change adaptation activities being undertaken by private companies, sometimes in partnership with NGOs or the public sector, from a wide range of regions and sectors.

Interested stakeholders can suggest additional examples to be included in the database, using the submission form on the database website. Adaptation activities may relate either to ensuring the resilience of business operations, or the provision of technologies or services that assist in the adaptation in vulnerable communities.
