The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a note by the Executive Secretary on ‘Arrangements for Intergovernmental Meetings' (FCCC/SBI/2015/2) to be discussed at the 42nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI).
The document includes a section on the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) and the 11th session of the COP serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 11), which will take place in Paris, France, in November-December 2015.

The document includes a section on the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) and the 11th session of the COP serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 11), which will take place in Paris, France, in November-December 2015.
The note includes subsections on preparations and organization of COP 21 and CMP 11, an organizational scenario, the high-level segment, and possible elements to include in their respective provisional agendas contained in Annexes to the note.
Another section addresses preparations for future sessional periods and guidance from the SBI regarding the dates for future meetings of the Convention bodies, including for dates for sessional periods in 2020 to be decided at COP 21.
A third section discusses organization of the intergovernmental process, including: frequency and organization of sessions, including possibly biennial COP/CMPs; possibly alternating COP/CMP sessions between host countries and the seat of the Secretariat in Bonn, Germany; arrangements for high-level segments, including engagement of ministers; and potentially adjusting the timing of the election of the COP President.
