UNFCCC Compiles Parties’ Submissions on APA Items for COP 22

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published four information documents in advance of the second part of the first session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA), which will convene from 7-14 November in Marrakesh, Morocco, during the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the UNFCCC.

UNFCCC7 October 2016: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published four information documents in advance of the second part of the first session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA), which will convene from 7-14 November in Marrakesh, Morocco, during the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the UNFCCC.

The first document includes submissions by Parties regarding further guidance in relation to the mitigation section of decision 1/CP.21 on: features of nationally determined contributions (NDCs); information to facilitate clarity, transparency and understanding of NDCs; and accounting for Parties’ NDCs (FCCC/APA/2016/INF.1)

The second document includes Parties’ views regarding further guidance in relation to the adaptation communication, including, inter alia, as a component of NDCs (FCCC/APA/2016/INF.2).

The third information document includes Parties’ views regarding modalities, procedures and guidelines for the transparency framework for action and support referred to in Article 13 of the Paris Agreement (transparency framework) (FCCC/APA/2016/INF.3).

The fourth document contains submissions by Parties regarding matters relating to the global stocktake, including identification of sources of input for the global stocktake and development of modalities of the global stocktake (FCCC/APA/2016/INF.4).
