story highlights

The UNFCCC Secretariat has announced the designated national authorities (DNAs) of Spain, Saudi Arabia, Côte d'Ivoire and Colombia as the winners of the 2011 DNA Communicators of the Year Showcase for their work in promoting the CDM in their countries.

28 November 2011: The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) designated national authorities (DNAs) of Spain, Saudi Arabia, Côte d’Ivoire and Colombia have been announced as the winners of the 2011 DNA Communicators of the Year Showcase. The showcase was launched in 2010 to share and recognize DNAs’ work in promoting the CDM in their countries.

CDM DNAs were asked to create a flyer promoting themselves and the CDM, together with a communication and distribution strategy for the flyer and a short reflection on the process. Entries were judged by a panel of UN and NGO judges and the DNAs of Spain, Saudi Arabia, Côte d’Ivoire, and Colombia were selected as the top four finalists. The results were announced at the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UNFCCC in Durban, South Africa, and winners will be featured on the CDM website along with their entries.
