UNFCCCJuly 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has added a newsroom feature to its website. A newsroom page now greets visitors to the site (www.unfccc.int), displaying news regarding climate change and stories about climate actions being taken all over the world by governments, companies, cities, the UN and civil society.

The new website feature includes tabs linking to focus sections, such as on financial flows, green urban, clean energy, the role of nature and adaptation actions. In a video statement posted on the newsroom, UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres introduces the new feature and indicates it will be regularly updated with the latest science, state of the negotiations, actions being taken by all stakeholders, publications, initiatives, projects and information on various meetings, including those outside the UNFCCC process.

Figueres states that the new website feature aims to facilitate the provision of a wide range of news and information, and notes that a tab on the newsroom webpage links to the previous UNFCCC webpages, which users are already familiar with. [UNFCCC Newsroom]
