UNESCO-IHE Hosts Capacity Development and Water SDGs Meeting

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Institute for Water Education (IHE) hosted an expert meeting on capacity development and the process to develop Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for water.

UNESCO-IHE7 February 2013: The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Institute for Water Education (IHE) hosted an expert meeting on capacity development and the process to develop Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for water.

The meeting, which convened from 6-7 February 2013, in Delft, the Netherlands, brought together 25 experts to capitalize on UNESCO-IHE’s knowledge in the field of capacity development in the water sector. The meeting was held with the objective of feeding into the ongoing process to develop SDGs.

The outcomes of the meeting, which discussed water-capacity development progress indicators, are expected to contribute to the 5th Delft Symposium on Capacity Development, to be held in May 2013 on the theme “Developing Capacity from Rio to Reality: Who is Taking the Lead?” [UNESCO-IHE Press Release]
