2 February 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and the World Resources Institute (WRI) have launched the World Resources Report website, which will gather expert views on responding to climate risks in developing countries to inform the preparation of the World Resources Report.

The World Resources Report, a 20-year partnership among UNDP, UNEP, the World Bank and WRI, has been published every two years since 1986 with the aim of providing policy makers worldwide with analysis and insight about major environmental and development issues. The 2011 edition is based on an interactive model that engaged over 100 government officials, climate experts, international leaders and practitioners in the field from the outset. The new website will feature all the research as it is prepared. This research will feed into the findings and recommendations of the World Resources Report, to be published in April 2011.

The 2011 Report will provide guidance on mainstreaming climate change risks into planning and policies across sectors such as agriculture, electricity production, and forestry and water management. It will describe approaches for dealing with different types of climate risk and will highlight a number of case studies. [World Resources Report Website] [WRI Press Release]
