UNEP Risoe13 September 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Risoe Centre has launched the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) Pipeline and Analysis Database. The database contains all submissions from developing countries and countries with economies in transition to the UNFCCC for NAMAs.

A NAMA registry is foreseen in climate negotiations, but the NAMA Pipeline and Analysis Database does not constitute such a registry. Instead, it provides a less formal overview of activities submitted as NAMAs. It is envisaged that the NAMA Pipeline will supplement the official registry. It will also provide the first graphic and tabular presentations of the depth and reach of submitted NAMAs, a section that is going to develop as data accumulates. According to the Risoe Centre, the site will be developed over the coming months, as countries generate ideas for NAMAs. [NAMA Pipeline Analysis and Database]
