As part of UNEP’s efforts to mitigate climate change and promote carbon sequestration, the “Trees4Love” campaign seeks to plant up to 5,000 trees in the Karura Forest. The number planted will be recorded under that “Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign,” an effort launched by UNEP in 2006. Ministers attending the UNEP Governing Council, which is convening 16-20 February 2009, will attend the event. [UNEP Press Release]
