14 May 2010: The UN Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with Olympus Corporation and the Agence France-Presse (AFP) Foundation, launched a photo contest titled “Picture This: We Can End Poverty.” The competition will feature work carried out in various countries to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015 to demonstrate how ordinary people around the world are addressing their most pressing development challenges.

Last year, the photo contest on caring for the Earth focused on climate change and environmental degradation in Africa. An exhibit featuring the winning photos will be held during the UN Summit on the MDGs in September in New York. Each photo entry can focus on one of the MDGs and the deadline for entries is 16 July 2010. [Picture This Website] [UNDP Press Release]
