Undp_logo2008: In accordance with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Strategic Priority on Adaptation, which aims to build up the resilience of small communities vis-à-vis climate change impacts, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) has begun implementing the GEF-funded Community-Based Adaptation Project.
The programme will focus on 10 countries – Bangladesh, Bolivia, Guatemala, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Namibia, Niger, Samoa, Vietnam – under the Small Grants Programme, and is expected to support 80-200 small scale climate change adaptation projects in each country, focusing on community-based natural resource management over the 2008-2011 period.
