UNDP Armenia Reduces Carbon Footprint

UNDP in Armenia is undertaking measures to green its office by reducing its carbon footprint though the use of solar power, and the reduction of energy, water and paper consumption.

According to UN Greening the Blue, UNDP hopes these actions will spur further green practices in the region.

UNDP11 January 2012: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Armenia is undertaking measures to reduce the office’s carbon footprint. In order to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the office is supporting a solar PV project for electricity generation, through the installation of a grid connected 10 kWt solar panels on their roof.

According to UN Greening the Blue, UNDP hopes these actions will spur further green practices in the region. The office is also working to reduce by 30% its energy, water and paper consumption. [Greening the Blue Press Release] [UNDP Armenia Press Release]
